What is the TABC (texas alcoholic beverage commission)?

The TABC is the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. This is the agency in charge of the administration of the Alcoholic Beverage Code in the state of Texas. As such, TABC certification is an important step for anyone who hopes to work in the food and beverage industry where alcoholic drinks will be sold. While certification is not required by the state, it is often a requirement of employment. So, you may need to complete your TABC certification before you can start work, or you might decide to pursue it before going on interviews to make yourself more attractive as a candidate.

how this course works

At the beginning of the course, you must submit your Social Security Number (SNN) and Date of Birth (DOB). Alternatively, you may submit a Machine-Readable Immigrant Visa (MRIV) or Individual Tax ID Number (ITIN) instead of the SSN. These are necessary for the TABC to record your certification and make it available to employers.

Each lesson contains detailed information on the topic and fun exercises. Self-paced lessons take less than 15 minutes and have a voice-over option that reads the lesson aloud. There are short 5 minute quizzes after each lesson.

A final exam is offered once all 4 lessons are completed. To get your TABC Certificate, you must achieve a 70%.

Knowledge of alcohol laws can better protect you against legal repercussions.

TABC training will better prepared to do your job and serve customers appropriately and safely.

Many different situations can come up while working in a server-seller role, and you might not have the knowledge needed to deal with those circumstances if you didn’t bother to complete the training process.
